With over two decades of legal practice, the founder of Oceania Legal, Flavia C. Ribeiro De Souza, gathered invaluable hands-on business and legal experience working in-house at some of the largest and highest performance Australian and overseas blue chip companies (Commonwealth Bank, Lend Lease, Pirelli Group and MVSS, a successful tech startup company) and at leading Australian and overseas commercial law firms.

Flavia acts for a whole range of small (up to $50M turnover), medium and large enterprises, new business, start-ups, existing business experiencing growth or mature business and their owners.

Flavia enjoys the business advisory side of her role, assisting clients to think outside the box to achieve their ambitions and goals and helping businesses mitigate risks and resolve disputes.

She is also a casual lecturer teaching theory and practice of Australian Commercial Law.

Flavia is Vice-President of the Australia-Brazil Business Council, a large Australian not-for-profit business organisation guiding those with commercial ties, investments and interests between Australia and Brazil and the  Australian Representative of the Brazilian Institute for the Development of International Business Relations – IBREI, based in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Despite of temporary plans, she quickly adapted to the down-to-earth Australian way of life and decided to make Australia her permanent home. She has been living here since 2001.

Flavia is proudly an Australian and a Brazilian Citizen and carry a multicultural DNA heritage comprised by 50% Portuguese, 21% Irish/Scottish/Welsh, 9,5% Northern African/Egyptian, 7.5% Ashkenazi Jewish and 12% Nigerian, Central-American Indigenous and Finish.
